General Notes
Participants must install Adobe Lightroom Classic on their computer prior to the start of the program. This program was created as a follow up to Adventures Online: An Introduction to Adobe Lightroom Classic (Program 24829). While taking that course is not a pre-requisite, this program is intended for students who already have experience with Adobe Lightroom Classic and want to expand upon their knowledge. You’ll enjoy 2-3 hours of daily instruction, discussion and/or field trips, which includes sufficient breaks throughout the program. This online program is through Zoom, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. We’ll provide a how-to guide to make sure you’ll have a hassle-free experience. This session is offered live only and will not be available on demand. Please review the daily itinerary for start and end times to ensure you won’t miss a minute of this live experience. All times are listed in the EASTERN time zone. If you live in a different time zone, please adjust your schedule accordingly.

Activity Note
Today’s session will start at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and end at 4:00 p.m.
Afternoon:
1:00 p.m.: Orientation & Introductions (30 minutes). 1:30 p.m.: Lesson – All in the Same Room (45 minutes). Adobe Lightroom is a vast and feature-packed application. In this lesson, we will take a bird’s eye view of the software and get oriented with the scope of advanced image processing tools within. 2:15 p.m.: Break (15 minutes). 2:30 p.m.: Lesson – Start with the Little Things – Masking Fine Details (60 minutes). Lightroom Classic has a very capable suite of masking tools. We will take a deep dive on the power of these tools and how to use them properly. There will be opportunities for follow-along work in this lesson. 3:30 p.m.: Wrap-up & Homework Assignments (30 minutes).

Color Management, Multi-Image Merge

Today’s session will start at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and end at 4:00 p.m.
Afternoon:
1:00 p.m.: Lesson – The Power of Color (or Not) (60 minutes). Adobe Lightroom allows users to manage every facet of the colors in their images. In this hands-on lesson, we will explore the array of color management tools and learn how to leverage them. 2:00 p.m.: Break (15 minutes). 2:15 p.m.: Lesson – Multi-Image Merge – HDR Processing (45 minutes). By combining multiple images in Lightroom, users will be able to greatly expand the tonal boundaries of their images and realize better detail and greater impact. In this hands-on lesson, we will merge images using Lightroom’s HDR tools. 3:00 p.m.: Lesson – Multi-Image Merge – Panoramas (45 minutes). Lightroom is capable of merging numerous images into very high resolution panoramic images. We will explore the best techniques for selecting, processing, and merging images to create stunning panoramas. 3:45 p.m.: Wrap-up & Homework Assignments (15 minutes).

1:00 p.m.: Lesson – Workflow Tweaks to Make Life Easier (60 minutes). Advanced Lightroom users will want to employ efficient and thoughtful techniques to manage their digital files. We will cover advanced techniques for importing, organizing, processing, and exporting images. 2:00 p.m.: Break (15 minutes). 2:15 p.m.: Lesson – Presets Are Here to Help (45 minutes). We will open the Presets panel in Lightroom and discover the powerful tools there. We’ll take an especially close look at the new AI-powered presets available in Lightroom Classic. 3:00 p.m.: Lesson – Hand-in-Hand – Plug-in Tools (45 minutes). Lightroom Classic works smoothly with external applications to extend image processing power. We’ll look at some popular plug-ins and learn how to keep control of your image files in this complicated back-and-forth. 3:45 p.m.: Wrap-up (15 minutes). This concludes our program.
