If you are new to photography, or like me getting back into photography after a long absence, this program is perfect. You’ll gain a real world understanding of how to create better photos and it will inspire you do more. I highly recommend this program and the instructor Mason Marsh. Based on my experience I have signed up for two more online programs.

This was wonderful course for me. I was woefully ignorant of the features available on my digital camera, and this was an excellent introduction. The instructor also brought in the basics of storing and processing the photos taken with a digital camera on a computer. This course will be a springboard to learning more about my camera, and to becoming more proficient in its use. I plan on taking more online courses on photography, and signing up for some of the in-person trips. As you may appreciate, this has gotten me excited about doing more photography!

This was an excellent program. I think it would have benefited from more time. I plan to take other Courses from the instructor, Mr. Marsh. I sincerely recommend this program. It reinvigorated my interest expanding my photography opportunities. Leslie

At $399 the course The Fundamentals of Digital Photography isn't cheap, but the cost of approximately $25 per hour is fairly competitive. I took the course to give me a boost to get my learning of digital photography going. The course goes quickly, so I would emphasize that you take the opportunity to ask the instructor questions about what you want to get out of the course. Mason Marsh is a good instructor, but make use of his knowledge by asking questions. The same applies for after the course has been completed.

Mason is a fountain of information in the digital photography area. He is open and helpful. I really enjoyed the class and the group.

SUPER FUN instructor. If you have a digital camera and want to better understand how to use it and to save and improve your photos, this is the course for you. Mason March did such a great job in presenting the subject and also interacting with those who had questions.
Well worth the time and money for this program.

If you're looking for a basic photography class made easy. This is the class! Mason is very down to earth, doesn't talk down to you, and presents the content so you understand it. I've been in other basic photography classes where I was lost and felt stupid for asking a question.

We have just completed three days of learning about the fundamentals of digital photography. The teacher was Mason Marsh, a wonderful photographer and a wonderful teacher. Mason delivered a lot of new and important material gradually and in a digestible manner. He was always accessible and helpful. His critique of our work was constructive and helpful. And importantly, the "classroom" felt safe for asking questions and making comments. I had wonderful three days and would have enjoyed some more...

Excellent adventure! Mason is a wonderful teacher. I have learned more in this course than I have ever learned from books or lectures. I immediately signed up for his other course.

The class instruction was very helpful. Complex photography concepts were described in a way that was easy to understand. All my questions were answered thoroughly. The photo critiques were right on and fair.

The "Fundamentals of Digital Photography Online Adventure" led by professional photographer Mason Marsh is an outstanding "5 Star" choice to pick up knowledge, tips, and tool recommendations covering all digital photography mediums. This well-developed and thoughtful presentation has something for every skill level with ample time to use chat and/or ask follow-up questions at breaks. People from both coasts and in between, including someone from Nova Scotia, had our group viewing and enjoying photos from all our different landscapes and locations. Mason was generous in his appreciation and offered real-time software demonstrations for how we might think about tweaking improvements. I am so pleased Road Scholar has included this online adventure to get me camera-ready for my next outdoor adventure!

A great learning experience exploring both simple and complex ideas and techniques . Wherever they are on the spectrum of knowledge, Mason helps people learn and develop their own style. After finishing this course - that afternoon - I signed up for his other course on "Travel Photography." Highly recommend this program!

I've taken a number of intro to digital photography classes in the past, and this one was by far the best of the bunch. The others left me feeling overwhelmed, but with this one I came away with tangible and practical things I'll be able to use right away. I finally feel comfortable with trying to shoot in manual mode! Mason was an exceptional instructor.

This course was exactly what I was looking for. I needed to review the basic camera settings, when to use them, and learn some post processing techniques and software options. The instructor presented a lot of useful photography information tips and tricks in a very straightforward way. This class is not just for beginners but all levels.
— Review left July 26, 2021
This is a wonderful and enjoyable class! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who seeks a better understanding of digital photography fundamentals and the skills required for the creative process of composing and processing a good photograph, rather than to simply take a snapshot.
— Review left July 25, 2021
This is a superb class, in which you learn everything about digital photography including how to effectively use your camera, digital asset management, photo composition, and how to use post processing to improve your photos. The critique part of the class was fascinating, as every attendee shared a photo and our instructor Mason showed how photos could be improved. I found the combination of theory and practice really useful, and I can't wait to create much better photos!

Mason Marsh loves the subject of photography and presents it clearly with excellent visuals and on-line learning tools. Some of the material was more advanced than I will probably ever use, but I feel like I understand the technical side of photography much better now. I will get greater pleasure out of composing and editing photos than previously. This was a perfect class to take on-line. If you want to improve your skills, I recommend this class.
— Review left July 22, 2021
A wonderful program learning about the camera's use & then learning about how to get the greatest satisfaction from the pictures captured.
— Review left July 22, 2021
Great course! Mason is knowledgable and passionate about photography. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking for more familiarity with your camera and/or the process of taking(and making) great photos.
