We loved Dianne Jacoby. Her presentation of events in Florida history made the past live. Dianne is an accomplished re enactor as well as an excellent historian. Her empathy for the characters she portrays is her great strength. Our hostess, Pat Fluno, was also wonderful. Her attention to details and preparation for this trip were evident , especially as we climbed the light house tower. It felt good to know that she had taken a course in CPR and that we were in safe hands. Fred & Mal Bisson DeLand, Florida

The program was excellent, both informative and interesting. I looked forward to Dianne's costumes and her portrayal of the Three Mrs Flaglers was great. The Ghost tour was fun too. I would rate it a 10. Karen from Long Island, NY

We had great fun and learned a lot. It was nice to have the 1 afternoon of free time so we could see whatever we felt a need to see or do. Dianne was the highlight of everyday and her knowledge of St Augustine's History was amazing. Good variety of activities and events. Ghost tour was terrific.

This was my first Road Scholar trip and I had the experience of a life time. I enjoyed the outstanding field trips and lectures.
I learned about the famous Henry Flagler and Frank B. Butler. I enjoyed the presentations by Dianne Jocoby and the attention to detail by the hostess, Pat Fluno, who made sure we stayed togeher on every outing and in class. Thanks to her YELLOW UMBRELLA. (SMILE)

Loved everything about this program. Each morning we looked forward to see our instructor's costume of the day. She brought the history of the time periods covered to life.

This is an excellent program, providing participants with so much history that is usually not covered in our typical history books. The program uses a “multimedia” approach, including lectures, guided tours, and skits together with independent time to explore some sites. The narrated tram tour and harbor boat cruise both are a pleasant way to provide overviews of the history and scenic sites in the city. Dianne Jacoby, the primary guide and lecturer, is amazing. As a historical re-enactor, she brings her knowledge, enthusiasm, and many talents to the program each day. Each morning she joined us dressed in an elaborate outfit characteristic of the period being studied that day, and program highlights included her performance as Mrs. Flagler in an original play that she has created and an after dinner encounter with a female pirate in which she also involved some of the program participants. Another outstanding event was the evening ghost tour in the city. The hotel where we stayed is very comfortable, with the added bonus of being just a short walk from the beautiful beach for visiting for a quick walk before breakfast or if we had any energy left at the end of the day’s activities. Food was OK, with especially good shrimp dinners at a nearby restaurant and an excellent lunch at one of the historic hotels. The program is well organized and provides just enough free time to allow participants to relax at the end of most afternoons. I have a blog about this and my other recent Road Scholar programs; the address is http://emknesper.blogspot.com/.

learning the history of St Augustine came alive with Dianne Jacoby as she appeared in a different period of
dress whenever we saw her. We even did a Ghost Walk after dark with Tim Fleming. The highlight to us was when Dianne appeared telling the story of the Three Mrs. Flaglers'!

An excellent and enjoyable introduction to St. Augustine's unique history and role, and its present historical, architectural and cultural attractions. The instructor literally made it "come alive"!

This was my first trip with Road Scholars and I was thrilled with it. The presentation of all the historical information was done in an entertaining and informative manner that made learning so much fun. Will definitely be going on other trips and recommending this one to others Jeanette from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

This program was fun, informative, and well worth the trip. Learned more than I had expected and, like any good learning experience, it makes me want to know more about Florida and its neighbors.

You should go on some of the Road Scholar trips. They are so interesting and fun that you don't realize how much you have learned until you try to remember all that you did and saw.

St. Augustine has much history that I did 't know anything about. The leaders made it come to life and covered many different aspects and places. I recommed it highly.
