Now you can embark on a once-in-a-lifetime online adventure that brings you to Canada, Greenland, Norway and the North Pole, all from the comfort of your own home! "Board" a Zodiak for up-close explorations of glaciers and fjords, search for Arctic wildlife like the polar bear and walrus, and enjoy a field trip to a Soviet weather station. Throughout your four-day online adventure, you’ll also enjoy lectures and presentations on the Arctic environment, Inuit culture, a history of the Norse, wildlife and much more. Along the way, get to know your fellow Road Scholars during this epic adventure and finish your journey at the literal Top of the World — the North Pole.

  • Explore the Northwest Passage during an online Zodiac cruise to Beechey Island, Cambridge, Transition and Johansen Bays, and thrill in the monumental cliffs of Stanford Fjord on Baffin Island.
  • "Board" the online Zodiac to admire the glacier at Eqip Sermia and then visit the town of Ilulissat with its world-famous Ice Fjord.
  • Search for wildlife like polar bears, walrus, arctic foxes and reindeer during an online expedition in Svalbard, enjoy a field trip to the Soviet weather station at Tikhaya Buhta and delight as your online adventure concludes at the North Pole.

You’ll enjoy 2-3 hours of daily instruction, discussion and/or field trips, which includes sufficient breaks throughout the program. This online program is through Zoom, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. We’ll provide a how-to guide to make sure you’ll have a hassle-free experience. In keeping with our Traditional On-Site programs, ALL ADVENTURES ONLINE MULTI-DAY PROGRAMS (INCLUDING THIS PROGRAM) ARE PRESENTED LIVE; THESE PROGRAMS ARE NOT RECORDED.
