Watch My Tracer
A third-generation Rhodesian tells the story of his upbringing on a farm and his days learning to track and survive in the bush that would assist him during the Rhodesian Civil War as a part of the clandestine operation unit known as the Pachedu.
Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood
A worthy heir to Isak Dinesen and Beryl Markham, Alexandra Fuller remembers her African childhood with candor and sensitivity. Though it is a diary of an unruly life in an often inhospitable place, it is suffused with Fuller's endearing ability to find laughter, even when there is little to celebrate. Fuller's debut is unsentimental and unflinching but always captivating. In wry and sometimes hilarious prose, she stares down disaster and looks back with rage and love at the life of an extraordinary family in an extraordinary time.
The Life and African Exploration of Dr. David Livingstone
A reproduction of Livingstone's original 1876 report on his exploration of Africa. Includes lithographic illustrations and facsimiles of notebooks, diary entries and letters.
Into Africa, The Epic Adventures of Stanley and Livingstone
A nicely paced tale of the Scottish explorer and Stanley's headline-grabbing efforts to locate him. Dugard has done his homework well, drawing on a wide variety of sources to paint a lively and nuanced portrait of the two men.
Zimbabwe (Bradt Travel Guide)
This compact, informative guide introduces the history, culture, wildlife and attractions of Zimbabwe, along with helpful travel details.
The Zambesi Expedition, To the Zambesi River and Its Tributaries
Livingstone's original account of his second expedition to Africa, first published in 1864 -- a sympathetic portrait of African peoples, rich in nature, culture and politics.
Glory
Award-winning author follows the fall of the Old Horse, the long-serving leader of a fictional country, and the drama that follows for a nation of animals on the path to true liberation. Inspired by the unexpected fall by coup in 2017 of Robert G. Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s president of nearly four decades, Glory shows a country's imploding, narrated by a chorus of animal voices.
Rhino War
Rhino War tells how Major General (Ret.) Johan Jooste, facing an unprecedented assault on a single national park and a species, took a demoralised force of men and women and turned them into arguably the best anti-poaching unit on the African continent.
Out of Darkness, Shining Light
So begins Petina Gappah's powerful novel of exploration and adventure in nineteenth-century Africa—the captivating story of the loyal men and women who carried explorer and missionary Dr. Livingstone's body, his papers and maps, fifteen hundred miles across the continent of Africa, so his remains could be returned home to England and his work preserved there.

Upon our entrance to the park, we will walk along the path with commentary from the Group Leader about the formation of the falls, as well as the local flora and birdlife seen. Since the waterfall spans the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is visible from both countries, but the majority of the water falls on the Zimbabwean side. At the end of our visit, we will transfer by minibus back to the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner.
Dinner:

The Victoria Falls extension was a wonderful experience. The Falls are beautiful and the Elephant encounter was amazing.

This is a great add on program to the Best of Botswana and other African trips. The falls are stunning and if are that close by why not see them? They are only a mile long, chuckle.. and it takes several hours to really enjoy them. The elephant contact part of the program was stunning, having seen them for weeks it was just great to be able to touch and feed them. Amazing creatures!

The Elephant Encounter was a marvelous experience!
— Review left November 2, 2023
This trip exceeded my expectations in every respect. Our tour leader Sam was very knowledgeable and thorough with regard to every aspect of the trip. I would not hesitate to join another trip with him as the tour leader. The latter part of April was an ideal time to go to Botswana (not too warm and not too cold).
